back soon!

Hello everyone...

Just like the football I am taking a few day's bye from the challenge- I am behind because I have spent the last few days out of town and I am playing catch-up.

I will be back soon, I promise!

Smash Book Challenge Day 16

Snack food. There are many foods I like to snack on. I had a photo in Instagram of Tapas that I had a few weeks ago. I used the photo because it represents my love of different flavours. I will try anything once really.

Oh and did I mention that I love the Tim Holtz distress stains? Well I do!

Smash Book Challenge Day 15

Half way there woo hoo!

Today is all about your favourite colour. If you asked me my favourite colour I would tell you it was red, but I have been buying and gravitating toward all things green.

So I have dedicated this page to a Flickr composition I found on Google images.

Green is so soothing. It can be a warm or cool colour. Lots of the Australian landscape is green. Green was my school uniform colour (blerg LOL).

What is your favourite colour?

Smash Book Challenge Day 14

Who do you love? I love lots of people but I chose to use a picture of my daughter Lilly and I. I am not really happy with this page, but I am ok with that, there are plenty more pages in the journal to come.

How are you going with the challenge?

Smash Book Challenge Day 13

Ooops.. I missed a few days with work and whatnot! But I am back again with day 13. Today is dedicated to your hobby.

Most of you will have scrapbooking as your hobby right? That's great! A page about scrapbooking is awesome. My page is about my quilting love. I have just finished a gorgeous blue and green queen size quilt.

What is your hobby??

Smash Book Challenge Day 12

Today is all about your favourite recipes. Mine at the moment is a double chocolate cranberry cookie. On my page I have included an index card that I am going to write the recipe on. I didn't get time to do this before I had to post the page for you.

I love the chewy center of these cookies and the rich chocolatey flavour.

The page features a photo of them baking in the oven.

The smell of baking cookies throughout the house is just divine.

What is your favourite recipe?

Smash Book Challenge Day 11

Hello Day 11 of the challenge! Today you have a free theme, but the challenge was to use stamps. I used stamps for the title on this page, and cut the letters out individually.

I love using stamps, for backgrounds, letters and embellishments. Studio Calico, Unity and Ali Edwards are among my favourite stamps.

Link me up to your wonderful creations!

Smash Book Challenge Day 10

Today is a wet and grey day here, I am not used to looking out the window and seeing it like this and not needning to sit in front of the fire. I am enjoying my first QLD winter. I am sure that next year when I am used to the climate I will be complaining it is cold!

Anyway, grey days make for average photos sorry. Here is day 10:

What makes you happy?

Lots of things make me happy. I used up a lot of my old stash here, making way for some gorgeous Studio Calico making it's way to me soon.

I made the title with my Copic Markers. I love using them but they bleed through the pages.

Thanks for looking!

Smash Book Challenge Day 9

Hi how are you all traveling?

Day 9 today and I am sharing my favourite place outdoors. I love the local beach and I am so glad that I moved closer to the ocean this year.

I love the Hambly camera rub-ons but I hear that Hambly is ceasing production :( So sad, I am a big fan of Hambly!!

I can't wait to see where your favourite places are!

Smash Book Challenge Day 8

Wow... I made it! I have posted every day for a week!

How are your Smash journals looking? Not so bare anymore?

Today's challenge was delicious. What you had for breakfast. I didn't actually have these banana butterscotch pancakes today unfortunately. They were from a couple of weeks ago. It was something special, I don't have these all the time!

I am looking forward to seeing what you all had this morning because I am getting a bit tired of my usual breakfasts... I need ideas!

P.S. Keep a lookout for a giveaway over the weekend!

Smash Book Challenge Day 7

Hello again...

I am glad to see a lot of you getting involved! This challenge doesn't need to be a daily thing for you if you don't have the time. You can use it as inspirational prompts, basis for layouts, or art journal ideas. If you are thinking outside of the square and are a little shy to share, please do, us creative types are so thankful for all the inspiration that is out there.

Day 7 the challenge was to create a page about where you like to shop.

I like to shop at a number of places but since moving nearer to the ocean I have found the most awesome seafood market. Grunske's. You walk into a giant fridge and they have all the fish and seafood on ice and you pick up what you want.

Pictured here is Red Emperor. Yummy!

I misted this page with Studio Calico Mr Huey "Dewey" mist and cut some cute little fishies from patterned paper.

I can't wait for you to share where you shop!

Smash Book Challenge Day 6

How are you going with our challenge? I love seeing all the pages. You don't have to keep up, you can pace yourself or mix up the themes if you don't like working in order.

Today you were challenged to name your favourite season. Mine is Spring, because of the gorgeous blossoms on the ornamental cherries and fruit trees. I love that the sun comes back from a long hiatus and the air smells so springy! After moving 2200km north I don't think I will experience Spring this year in the same way as I did. Oh well, I might just learn to love Winter instead!!

For this page, I dug out the old Heidi Swapp damask stamp and stamped it in Jenni Bowlin Lemondrops ink. The letters are old SEI stickers that I have been saving for years. I love them!

Have a great day!

Smash Book Challenge Day 5

Day 5 is brought to you by the theme of "Family".

I decided to do a double spread, and use one of the more difficult patterns in my Smash journal. I forgot to mention previously that it is OK to jump around in your journal. You might not get the "vibe" of the page you want to do from the pattern that turns up next.

These photos were taken by a dear friend of mine just before we left Victoria. Celeste is a scrapbooking inspiration. You should go and check her blog out too.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to link me up with your creations!

Smash Book Challenge Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of the Smash Book Challenge. I love all the Smash book pages that I have seen around the web!

Today is all about your favourite drink. Mine right now is Vanilla Vodka with lemonade and ice. A naughty indulgence but great in the hot weather after a big day at work.

Since moving to sunny Queensland I have been having more than a few quiet beverages after work ;) I am also partial to Bulmer's Cider as well. Good thing they have it on tap at our local watering hole.

Ok, I can't wait to see all the pages, I have a feeling that a few of you will have coffee pages...

Take care!

Smash Book Challenge Day 3

Hello again.

Today is a lazy day for me, just plodding around the house doing the things that need to be done.

If you are following the Smash Book Challenge we are up to Day 3: Where you work.

My page:

For 7 years I was a stay at home mum and I did not have to go out to work every day. Just recently I have completed my teaching degree and taught for 18 months. I now work at a University delivering programs to students so that they have an idea of how University works. Lots of kids come from regional schools which don't get much exposure to Higher Education. It is a fun job, and really rewarding.

I am looking forward to seeing where you all work, including the full-time mums!

Smash Book Challenge Day 2

Hello everyone following!

Today's challenge was Weather. My Smash page today is about the dark storm clouds over the canefields that reminded me of the Ganggajang song... "This is Australia". We have recently moved to QLD so these types of storms are a novelty, they only happen in Summer down south and only rarely too.

If you are playing along, please post a link to your pages so I can have a look.

Have a Smashing day!
